Contributing

How to help with FoundersOS today - what's welcome now, and what's coming soon.

FoundersOS is open source under the MIT license, and the project is built in the open. Here’s the honest state of how you can help right now.

Issue reports are welcome - and genuinely useful

The single best way to contribute today is to file an issue on GitHub. Bug reports, confusing docs, missing tools, rough setup steps - all of it helps. A good report includes:

  • What you were trying to do
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened (error messages, screenshots, the tool call if you have it)
  • Your setup: which MCP client, and roughly what your config looks like (never paste secret keys)

See CONTRIBUTING.md in the repo for the full guidelines.

Pull requests: not just yet

Outside pull requests are not being accepted yet - that’s coming soon, and opening up contributions is on the roadmap. In the meantime, issues are the way to get changes on the radar.

Security issues

Please do not file security problems as public issues. Follow the process in SECURITY.md so they can be handled responsibly.

Be kind

The project follows a Code of Conduct. The short version: assume good faith, be generous, and help make this a place people want to build in.
